About Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine

Oasis Mediterranean Cuisine was founded more than 30 years ago based on a simple premise that still holds true today. Make delicious products the right way, using only the freshest, high quality ingredients that are 100 percent all natural and contain no additives.

When Francois Hashem and his father, Edmond, started Oasis in Toledo, Ohio, back in 1988, our company offered seven original Mediterranean favorites. In 2021, we now produce 50+ items including more than 20 flavors within our Original, Whipped and Zero Fat Hommus lines. Oasis also offers an array of Mediterranean classics like Tahini, Bruschetta, Couscous, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Pita Bread/Lavash, Pita Chips, and most recently a line of grab & go meals and snacks, Veggie Nuggets and the very popular Pita and Hommus Crisps.

We’re proud of our humble beginnings and excited about what the future holds. Our reputation, for both quality products and top-notch customer service, is the reason why our distribution has grown from an original customer base in Toledo and nearby Ann Arbor to include leading grocery retailers like Fresh Thyme and Natural Grocers; Kroger, Whole Foods, Festival Foods and Woodman’s in the Midwest; and an array of smaller, independent retailers across the United States.

We believe there are many reasons why our products are so well respected and so well liked. First and foremost, we refuse to settle. For example, we took the extra step of producing our own tahini; the main ingredient used in all of our signature hommus recipes. Therefore, we are able to control exactly what goes into our products and know exactly how it’s going to taste.
